Oxycodone is an opioid-based prescription medicine that helps manage moderate to severe pain conditions. The main function of this drug involves acting upon opioid receptors in the body's central nervous system in order to help modify the body's perception of pain. In some instances, a doctor may recommend oxycodone for use depending on one’s medical condition.
